Moving Forward Together
November 12, 2024
Like many of you, the outcome of the election was neither what I expected nor what I'd hoped for. And I expect also like many of you, I'm left mourning what might have been.
But, I also know that our work has become all the more important and must continue despite the anticipated attack on DEI as part of the next administration's strategy once they begin to enact the intent behind Project 2025.
As Vice-President Harris said in her moving concession speech: "While we concede the election, we do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign!" This is not a time to throw up our hands, this is a time to roll up our sleeves, to organize and to mobilize."
So, here's what you can expect from BRIDGE. Together with our Board of Directors we have launched Project Forward. As the industry trade group, BRIDGE is leading from the front and will collectively – as a community – redefine what the future of our work looks like. We will build on our strategy of Inclusion is Good for Business, helping organizations everywhere operationalize inclusion as a practice for growth.
Together we will work to bring consistency in language, terminology and approach as well as equip, educate and empower DEI, marketing and business leaders to build a more inclusive industry that is right for the world and impactful for business.
Our intention with Project Forward is to collaborate with other organizations that have a DEI mission and bring power to the alignment of our efforts. We are demonstrably stronger together!
You will be hearing more from us in the near future on next steps. In the meantime, if you would like to participate more actively in our efforts please reach out or join our ongoing weekly post-election calls.
And as always, if there is anything the BRIDGE team or I can do in support of you, please let us know.
