Inclusion and the 2024 US Elections
July 2, 2024
I'm back from an energizing and productive week in Cannes, where I had the privilege to represent BRIDGE at the International Festival of Creativity. I was grateful to find widespread interest in our message of "Inclusion is good for business" and humbled by the outreach from other attendees to connect and learn more. The experience left me optimistic for the future of BRIDGE's mission!
Now, as I pick back up the rhythm of work and home, my thoughts increasingly turn to one of the biggest threats we as a community and country are facing: Project 2025.
If you're unaware, Project 2025 is a sweeping 900-page conservative transition agenda that, among its many disruptive proposed policy and administrative changes, would dismantle DEI's legal and political foundation. The negative impact these proposed changes will have on business growth will be profound. As Prof. Kenji Yoshino said, it's a "180-day plan to dismantle not just parts of our lives, but our work in this world."
In keeping with BRIDGE's mission to build a more inclusive workplace and marketplace, we have convened a board level steering committee to provide clear and concise education to the industry on the direct implications Project 2025 will have on business and employees, especially those who are most vulnerable and already underrepresented. You will hear more from us in the coming weeks on the specific deliverables.
