Women Take Center Stage in August

August is upon us which, in the US, usually means summer vacations, overflowing vegetable gardens, and readying for back to school. It's also the month for Women's Equality Day when, on August 26, we commemorate the heroic women who fought for our right to vote and we reaffirm our commitment to equality under the law.

Led by the resounding support of Black women, who quickly organized an unprecedented Zoom call with 40,000 attendees, we have seen an extraordinary convening of women from all walks of life show up in support of Vice President Harris, women's rights and a future focused on freedom.

Closer to home, we're incredibly excited that Sandra Sims-Williams, Chief Business Inclusion, Impact, and Belonging Officer of Nielsen, has assumed the role of Chair of the BRIDGE Board of Directors. With Sandra, an industry change agent, business leader, and Inclusion champion, at the helm together with our incredible board, BRIDGE is uniquely positioned to lead our inclusion mission and meet the opportunities and challenges of our industry and world.

We also give our eternal thanks to Jonita Wilson for her leadership and service to BRIDGE and the industry as our very first BRIDGE Board Chair.

No doubt, August will bring even more excitement and challenges. We stand ready to reclaim DEI from all forms of misrepresentations and intentional disinformation because we know that building inclusive brands and companies is not only the right thing to do, it's good for society, it's good for the world and it is the next transformation for business growth.
